BACK ON THE BANKS OF THE GURGLING GOWANUS

May 1st, 2009 — (Brooklyn, NY) On May 23rd, outdoor music venue, BKLYN
Yard, is re-opening re-opening for the summer. Each weekend, BKLYN Yard will
host events ranging from BBQs, dance parties, live concerts, to festivals,
benefits, and family-friendly activities.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM PAST SUMMER:
Gowanus Harvest Festival – Over 1,200 Brooklynites celebrated a day of
harvest at The Yard, with local vendors selling farm fresh products,
composting demonstrations, wind-powered energy sign-ups, pony-rides, pumpkin
carving, and live rock-a-billy music.

Sundays Best – Each Sunday, The BKLYN Yard would be filled with soft waves of
disco, techno, house. Curated by Justin Carter, Doug Singer and Eamon
Harkin, this lazy weekly series featured a rotating roster of famous DJs
such as Nicky Siano, Afrika Bambaataa, Kevin Saunderson, Danny Wang and
Metro Area.

Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival
– The first of its kind, the Brooklyn
Electronic Music Festival brought together the city’s top electro acts for a
weekend of neon fashion and sweaty dancing.

Kaiju Big Battel — KBB is the world’s only live monster wrestling
exhibition, featuring ludicrous monster-themed adversaries, hand-made
costumes, over-sized monster-movie props, a towering “Danger Cage”, and
dastardly wrestling-ring tactics. Fusing American pro-wrestling spectacle
with Japanese comic book hysteria, Kaiju took over the Gowanus in a
historical waterfront rampage.
